About Us

Our Beliefs

Wesley Uniting Church Box Hill is a faithful Christ-centered community that shares God’s Love and promotes discipleship.
In Fellowship, we seek to encourage one another to worship God passionately, reach out and connect with other Christians in our community so as to grow in faith and understanding of God’s word, serve others faithfully and minister to the needs of others through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Our Vision

To be passionate for God and to be a loving and nurturing faith community embracing people of diverse backgrounds, living in the ways of Christ and rebuilding our church.

Our Mission

Building up the Church through Intentional Discipleship. To share God’s Love and to make disciples of all nations. (Matthew 28: 18-20).

Our Goal

As Intentional Disciples, we will:

WORSHIP the Lord
CONNECT in fellowship
GROW in discipleship
SERVE in ministry
REACH OUT to others.

Our Logo

Our logo shows the cross of Jesus Christ, in its light and love, standing over a darkened world — redeeming it through grace and truth. By that cross people are bound to Christ and each other.
The Holy Spirit, symbolised by the dove with the wings of flame, empowers and guides us to be witnesses to Jesus Christ.
The word Wesley in white at the foot of the cross reminds our congregation at Wesley to be the light of the world and to reflect Christ’s light in this darkened world.

Church Service

Our main worship service takes place on Sunday Mornings at 10:00 am. The service is traditional with contemporary elements, conducted in English. Our church is blessed with the historical Heritage listed 1877 Henry Willis Organ that provides us with pipe organ music during worship each week.
Our church greatly encourages anyone to use his/her gift in music to participate in the weekly musical meditation performance during the worship service.
Parents of younger children are welcome to attend the worship service using the Kids Corner or their children may attend our Sunday School that runs con-currently with the worship service.

Ministry Team

Our Minister had concluded his placement in October 2018 and our church is currently undertaking a Mission Study and awaiting for a new Minister placement. Our weekly church services are presently led by a retired Minister Revd. Robert Humphreys and various lay preachers.
Our Church Council and Church Elders are actively involved in the decision making aspect of our Church. Presently there are 6 members in the Church Council. Together with our 3 Church Elders, they are responsible for building up the congregation in faith and love, sustaining its members in hope, and leading them into a fuller participation in Christ’s Mission in the world.

Youth & Childrens

At Wesley Uniting Church Box Hill the congregation is relatively young. We provide a safe environment where children and youth are able to explore their faith and engage in fellowship through a range of activities provided. Most activities are held on the church grounds with the exception of Tennis being held at 2 Collins Street, Box Hill. Our Sunday school is held each Sunday from 10:00 am to 11:30 am together with children from the Melbourne Chinese Methodist Box Hill Church, conducted by a bi-lingual teacher.
Activities offered to our Youth and Children includes:
– Sunday School
– Basket Ball
– Table-tennis
– Tennis
– Painting and Calligraphy
– Music in Worship

Pastoral Care

Presently Pastoral Care, which is the Ministry of care and spiritual encouragement is provided by our Church Council. We offer assistance, care and prayer for our congregational members and those in the wider local community associated with our Church.
